Desalination
Seawater desalination and brackish water treatment represent the most common applications of reverse osmosis in the municipal drinking water domain. The recent introduction of energy recovery systems has made the use of this membrane technology more cost-effective than alternative processes such as distillation.
Complex treatment chains
The quality of a raw water sometimes requires more lengthy treatments than a clarification or disinfection in order to respect the quality standards for drinking water. In these cases a multi-stage treatment chain is necessary in order to obtain a high quality drinking water. For these applications, Membratec can offer multi-stage treatment chains, whereby the various stages are chosen in order to solve each raw water quality problem and can therefore be ideally completed with the appropriate membrane treatment. Here follows a non-exhaustive list:
Membratec ultrafiltration
A “home-made” well-proven process All Membratec plants are not only meant to offer the well-known advantages of ultrafiltration (clarification and disinfection in one single stage), but also provide the clients with a simple, reliable and low-maintenance plant, so that the daily needs of the consumers can be successfully met by keeping operating costs at a low level. In order to achieve this important aim, Membratec has developed its own process, which ideally integrates the different components of the treatment plant in a fully automatic operating system, requiring only routine controls. The main characteristics of the Membratec process are:
Water softening
Membrane technology applied to water softening allows to sensibly improve the quality of drinking water with excessive hardness or sulphate content. An elimination rate of 94% to 99% for elements such as calcium or sulphates can be obtained by using the appropriate membrane type with an adequately chosen cut-off.
Electrical Low Pressure Impactor ELPI
The Electrical Low Pressure Impactor (ELPI) enables real-time particle size distribution and concentration measurement in the size range 30 nm to 10 µm. The range can be extended down to 7 nm with supplementary accessory.
Gas monitoring in stacks PULSI 200LR
In-stack gas monitoring The PULSI 200LR analyser continuously monitors up to six components directly in flue gas stream.
Hand-held 5-gas Detector
GrayWolf empowers mobile computers to Measure, Data-log and Document worker exposure levels and indoor air quality parameters. The DirectSense TOX is a powerful environmental data collection tool; intuitive and Easy-To-Use.
High Level CO Analyzer

Indoor Air Quality Monitor
The IAQ Surveyor PRO includes a built-in micro-manometer to measure static pressure and differential pressure. The auto-zeroing pressure sensor allows for pollution pathways, HVAC systems, filter blockages and many other processes to be assessed for optimum performance.
dixi 4 S
The well proven and economical, hydraulic compact baler. 4 t compacting force Bale weight of 30 to 50 kg Specially space-saving solution by feeding of the press chamber from the top With rapid compacting cycles, automatic ram return and visual indicator to show when final bale size is reached Sturdy, compact, low-maintenance design – cylinder and tying tape rolls are integrated into the housing Being visually attractive makes this baler even suitable for areas frequented by the public The small floor space required even allows the installation in relative narrow recesses The electrical connection is possible to every 230 V plug socket
25 FP The hydraulic drum press
