Construction on a new 16.2-megawatt solar power plant in the southern Bulgarian town of Dimitrovgrad has begun, newswires reported, citing US solar power developer Premier Power Renewable Energy Inc.
The company said the project is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2012. The project represents a more than 75% increase in the country's solar capabilities since the beginning of 2011, when installed capacity was reported at approximately 21 MW.
