A consortium of the city of Sopron (NW Hungary) and surrounding towns have won a HUF 4.4 billion European Union grant to support a HUF 6.25 billion waste management project, regional news portal nyugatmagyar.hu reported on Thursday.
The communities will build a dump and a sorting centre as well as recycling islands as part of the project.
Sopron local council press chief Balázs Kuslics said an announcement of the subsidy would be made only after official notification is received.
