Hungarian Mercedes plant to begin production in May 2011

The new Mercedes-Benz's Hungarian plant in Kecskemét is going to schedule and the deadline of May 2011 should be met. The construction on the new manufacturing plant began 1 year ago and Mercedes-Benz's is investing in over € 780 million in the plant by 2012.

Over 75% of the Construction work has involve Hungarian companies and Daimler uses 17 Hungarian suppliers for it Car parts and these supply contracts are worth over 300 million euros. At the moment Mercedes-Benz's Hungarian plant employs over 700 workers and when the manufacturing plant is finish then the workforce will be over 2000 in 2011 and 2500 in 2012.

Its expected that Mercedes-Benz's will manufacture its premium category passenger car production in 2012.
