The European Commission is going to give the Romanian government a due date to close and restore 109 landfills, which rupture the EU Landfill Directive. These destinations contain 65 landfills for metropolitan waste, 27 landfills for dangerous mechanical waste and 17 landfills for non-unsafe modern waste, the Commission reported a week ago when it declared the move.
The deadline for the specialized overhaul or conclusion and rebuilding of landfills, which don't conform to the Directive lapsed in mid-July 2009. The Commission will now deliver a contemplated assessment to Romania and assign the authorities a due date of two months to make a move. Indeed, this will be the second stride in the encroachment system. In the event that Romania does not to act within the due date, the Commission can dispatch the procedure's final move by filing a case against Romania at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.
