The European Investment made a positive decision as they agree on providing about EUR 13 million for a new waste facility to be built-in Western Macedonia in order to treat solid waste in the region.
The regional waste management body, DIADYMA SA, promotes the proposed project. The project is focused on the transfer and disposal facilities for the residual waste created in Western Macedonia, operation and construction of the solid waste treatment plant will serve the population of nearly 285 000.
From the very start of the economic crisis in 2008, the EIB has already provided up to EUR 11 billion in investment projects for large infrastructure projects as well as support for small or medium enterprises.
This project will definitely give and provide benefits not just to investors, business owner and community members, but also to the environment so waste will be managed and therefore disposed of properly preventing air and water pollution to occur.
