Monday 25th April saw a meeting between representatives of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Polish government officials. Representatives from civil society and a number of businesses were also in attendance as part of an EBRD tour that will reach a number of locations including Pulawy and Bielsk Podlaski.
The visits and meetings are a part of an EBRD programme which will see the Board of Directors visit a number of their own projects to get a general idea of the progress being made. The EBRD has built a solid partnership with Poland in their 25 year history and this opportunity will be used to see their activities on the ground. In fact, the EBRD has invested nearly €8 billion in over 360 projects since their very first.
Jean-Marc Peterschmitt, Managing Director of Countries of Operation Group, and Grzegorz Zielinski, Regional Director of Poland and the Baltic's, will be accompanying the Board of Directors throughout the visits.
