Slovenia is seeking partners for a number of investment opportunities in its hydro power and water supply sectors, a report issued by the country's investment promotion agency indicated.
The report states all relevant geologic, geomechanic, hydrological and environmental impact studies have been carried out and the paperwork required under the country's national spatial plan has been prepared. The necessary permits should be issued by the Slovenian government by the end of 2011.
One of the advertised investment opportunities is the Kozjak pumped storage plant on the river Drava, the report issued last month by the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments indicated. The facility is planned to have an installed power capacity of 2 x 220 MW in turbining mode and 2 x 176 MW in pumping mode and should be generating 985 GWh of electricity per year. The required investment is estimated at € 323 M. The construction of the plant is scheduled to be completed in five years.
