The Czech Republic has decided to drop a proposed regulation that would have increased day and night noise limits on main roads by five decibels. The controversial proposal has been heavily criticised by both environmental and health and safety groups. The proposal would have enabled the government to raise noise limits for first class roads, roads for motor vehicles, motorways and local roads.
