In the last twenty years American companies invested over 20 billion dollars in Poland and want to invest more.
A report by the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland and KPMG shows that US companies played a significant role in the Polish economic transformation. In the last twenty years American companies invested over 20 billion dollars in Poland. Currently there are 761 US companies in Poland, which employ 180,000 people.
“Most of American companies entered the Polish market in 1990s and brought to Poland new business standards, management techniques and modern technologies,” says Stacy Ligas from KPMG.
The report shows that 98 percent of American entrepreneurs are satisfied with doing business in Poland and two thirds of respondents declared that they plan to increase their investments in the country.
According to American businesspeople, main advantages of investing in Poland are: location in the centre of Europe, qualified work force, large market for consumer goods, predictions of economic growth and economic stability. Factors which make it difficult to invest in Poland include: poor road and rail infrastructure, bureaucracy and complex tax system.
