AS Hekotek has announced that they will providing the factory equipment for 4 Energia’s new pellet plant in Latvia. Broceni, a small town in Latvia, will play host to the plant after construction started in July 2015. It is believed that around 120,000 tonnes of pellets will be produced at the factory over a 12 month period when complete.
One of the biggest considerations for the factory was how to receive the necessary energy and the answer was found in the construction of a new cogeneration plant with 19.4MW thermal power and 3.98 MW electric power. Around 30,000 MWh will be produced in electrical output over the course of the year and will be sold to the green network; the thermal energy will be used by the factory.
The manufacturing of the equipment has been split between three different companies; Brucks, CPM and Hekotek-Savico. SIA Upb Energy has been placed in charge of constructing the cogeneration plant with Bono and MAN providing the equipment.
The project, as a whole, is set to cost around €30 million and can be found upon completion in the Broceni District of Latvia.
