Moscow has just overtaken London has having Europe's tallest building. The Mercury tower in Moscow financial district is now officially taller then London's Shard which is based in London's south bank. The Mercury tower cost over € 1 billion to construct and has been measured at 29 meters higher then the Shard, the total height of the Mercury tower is 338.8 meters. There has been a lot of construction in recent years in Moscow and with now the tallest building in Europe this lifts the profile of Moscow as a modern city and a place to do business.
