EBRD to provide €13.4m loan to water project in Romania

The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has allocated a €13.4m loan to Compania de Apa Targoviste-Dambovita to upgrade and expand its water services in Dambovita, Romania.

The loan is part of the EBED's €200m Regional EU Cohesion Fund Water Co-Financing Framework.

The scope of work involves upgrading the water infrastructure in Dambovita and the rehabilitation and extension of six existing wastewater treatment plants.

The work also includes the construction and modernisation of 120km of the city's sewerage network and 80km of its water supply system.

On completion, 170,000 residents in Dambovita will have access to clean water and a modern water supply and wastewater service.
