In 2009, Poland was the only EU member state to record GDP growth, while in 2010 the country’s GDP is expected to grow by 1.8 percent. According to the EC, Poland will be joined by Slovakia as the two countries with largest economic growth this year. Mark Allen, head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission in Poland, told the Polish daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna that the fund expects Poland’s GDP growth to exceed 2 percent in 2010.
