Sofia. According to EU requirements, Bulgaria should produce 16% of its energy from renewable sources by 2020. The possible options are alternative sources like wind turbines, solar panels and hydroelectric power plants.
The government, however, is on its way of imposing a temporary ban on their construction over alleged ecological threats.
