Preliminary data from the Communications Regulatory Authority (RRT) has discovered good news for Lithuania as their electronic communications market experienced growth of 3.5% compared to the previous year to reach €158 million. The growth compared to the previous quarter stood at 1.5%.
Mobile communications operators seemed to be the main contributors to this as they saw an increase in revenue of 3.5% between July and September reaching nearly €60 million. Retail broadband internet access services also saw an increase in revenue by 2% to €29 million. However, fixed-line telephone operators experienced a fall in revenues to under €12 million, a drop of 2% from the previous quarter. Paid TV services also saw a slight decrease in revenue by 0.5% to €15 million.
The total amount of investment into the market reached €19 million in the third quarter of 2015 which is an increase of 13% from the previous year and 4% from the previous quarter.
