An eleven-million-euro air conditioner plant opened at the northeastern town of Perkupa on Thursday. The plant pledges to use environmentally-friendly technology that is unique in Hungary and in Central and Eastern Europe, the Hungarian owner, Genex said in a statement. The plant will operate on a "zero-emissions" basis, using only renewable energy sources, Environmental Minister Imre Szabo told MTI at the opening. The plant will employ 50 people.
