Company "Zero Waste" gets license for management of waste batteries
Skopje, 26 October 2012 (MIA) - Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Abdilaqim Ademi and Swedish Ambassador Lars Wahlund presented Friday company "Zero Waste" with a license for collective handler of waste batteries and car batteries.
Minister Ademi expressed belief the company would raise the public's awareness on the damage that substances used in batteries and car batteries could cause to the environment and people's health, as well as the necessity to collect this waste separately from the communal waste, but also to enable its processing and recycling.
Ambassador Wahlund, who was the initiator of the project for collection of waste batteries, stressed the support would continue, since waste management was one of their priorities.
He added the Macedonian people should develop a habit of selecting waste, whereas results from implemented projects were already visible.
