Enea, one of the largest power utilities in Poland, has signed a PLN6.4bn (€1.54bn) contract with a consortium of Hitachi and Polimex-Mostostal (57%-43%) for the construction of the new Kozienice power plant.
The new coal-fired supercritical facility will have a capacity of 1,075 MW and should be commissioned in the second half of 2017. Enea has already secured PLN4bn bond program and will complete negotiations with multilateral institutions to finance the remaining PLN2bn.
