A contractor is to be chosen in December for the development of a gas pipeline interconnection with Romania under the Danube waterway bed, Bulgaria's Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said on Friday.
Bulgaria's gas pipeline administrator Bulgartransgaz welcomed offers for the development of a gas interconnector with Romania including a segment under the Danube on September 16. The due date for submitting offers will terminate on October 16.
A contractor is to be chosen in December 2015, if the submitted offers meet general society's prerequisites procurement presented with no appeals filed against the offers' standing and the naming of the successful applicant, Petkova told parliament.
The plan for the development of a gas interconnection between Bulgaria and Romania is being executed mutually by the gas transmission administrators of the two neighboring nations - Bulgartransgaz and Transgaz.
