Lubiatów Mine in Lubuskie Province is one of the state-of-the-art facilities of its kind in Europe. “It is my utmost wish that it becomes a symbol of a growing energy independence of our country,” the Prime Minister said during the opening ceremony.
“Poland evolves into an ambitious and bold state also due to the fact that this energy independence becomes a fact,” Donald Tusk stressed.
“I am very pleased that we can optimistically look forward to further explorations, especially as regards shale gas. We will keep on searching and exploring our deposits wherever they prove profitable,” the Prime Minister reiterated. Lubiatów Mine
See video The largest oil and gas mine in Poland launched » Lubiatów-Międzychód-Grotów (LMG) Mine is one of the most state-of-the-art and advanced investments of the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG).
Explorable deposits are among the largest ones in Poland. In the first years of operation, the mine will extract annually ca. 100 million m3 of natural gas and 300 thousand tons of crude oil.
Investment cost is ca. PLN 1.7 billion. The plant will employ almost 100 people.
