The Czech government have announced and launched their new energy efficiency programme that will last until 2021 and has a total budget of €900 million. The programme comes as, at the end of last year, Czech Republic had over 2 GWp of solar parks and was ranked in the top 6 in the EU in terms of installed capacity per inhabitant. The beneficial feed-in tariff (FiT) and low administration barriers around 2009 were major factors in contributing to the high capacity. The reduction in support of this slowed the increase down significantly.
The residential solar sector is expected to benefit from the governments next set of plans.
