The European Investment Bank (EIB) is giving EUR 20 million to Banka Sparkassed.d. (BS) to fund ventures of SMEs, mid-tops and public sector establishments in the facets of the region’s economy, power, ecological security, health and education.
This is the next tranche of an EUR 50 million loan, the first portion of EUR 30 million made available in 2013 having been effectively circulated - mostly to back SMEs: on investments (63%) and working capital (37%), and others in the fields of power, metal industry, processing waste, road transportation and information technology. EIB Vice-President LászlóBaranyay stated: “I completely welcome the idea that EIB funds will certainly enrich access to credit for SMEs and mid-cap organizations functional in the areas of industry, services and agriculture in Slovenia. The improved connection of these agencies to extensive capital is essential for the growth and development of the Slovenian economy when it comes to employment creation and growth. In conjunction with Banka Sparkassed .d, the EIB is increasing the capital required to carry out important projects promoting the competitiveness and diversification of the Slovenian economy.”
Due to its collaboration with Banka Sparkassed, a reputable financial institution in Slovenia, the EIB is ensuring that the benefits associated with granting financial loans on favorable conditions are transferred to qualified beneficiaries.
The EIB has thus far given credit lines in Slovenia for co-financing ventures encouraged by SMEs and mid-cap businesses in the total amount of around EUR 2 billion, signifying around 35% of the Bank’s lending obligations in Slovenia since the beginning of its operations in the country in 1991.
