On March 21, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao held the first round of China-Poland vice minister-level strategic dialogue with Jerzy Pomianowski, Undersecretary of State at the Polish Foreign Ministry in Warsaw. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on China-Poland relations, China-EU relations and other issues of common concern.
They spoke highly of the sound development momentum of China-Poland relations and agreed to make full use of the platform of strategic dialogue mechanism to strengthen mutual understanding and mutual trust and promote exchanges and cooperation.
Song said that Poland is an important country of EU and Central and Eastern Europe. China attaches importance to the relations with Poland and is willing to make joint efforts with Poland to promote the all-round and in-depth development of bilateral strategic partnership in the principle of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit in accordance with the Joint Statement signed by the heads of state of both countries in December last year. The Chinese foreign ministry is willing to step up the consultations and exchanges at all levels with the Polish foreign ministry.
Pomianowski said that President Komorowski visited China successfully in December last year. The establishment of the strategic partnership and the vice minister-level strategic dialogue mechanism have brought the bilateral relations to a new development stage. Poland values China's development and international influence and is willing to further enrich the bilateral strategic partnership and expand exchanges and pragmatic cooperation.
On the same day, Song also met with the director of the Polish Prime Minister's office to exchange opinions on strengthening the bilateral high-level contacts. Chinese Ambassador to Poland Sun Yuxi attended the above activities.
