Electric Power of Serbia and German Tyssen Croup signed contract for procurement of new machine, jobs for local companies

- „ThyssenKrupp“ is long term EPS and Kolubara mines and cooperation was always successful, said Dragomir Markovic, EPS GM. Kolubara and EPS with this new machine will increase significantly production capacity and security of coal supply. It is of great importance to mention that Thyssen main subcontractor will be Kolubara Metal and with this platform majority of Serbian metal production companies will be involved in this project.

Mr.Noyhaus, board member of ThyssenKrupp stated that this company is proud to participate in EPS and Kolubara mines company development and that the new escavator will be synergy of known and latest technology. He explained that in the following months joint hard work is expected with local partners in designing and assembly of excavator, weight 1.650 tons.

Nebojsa Ceran, Director of Kolubara Mines explained that the procurement of excavator is the beginning of second investment phase and added that in this year 150 mil euros will be invested in new equipment procurement.

- We will order and install new system on C field. For tender announced in November 2011, four European companies submitted their offers: Swedish Sandvik, polish Kopeks Famago, German Takraf and ThyssenKrupp. The best offer from ThyssenKrupp was selected.

This is one part of procurement project for remaining missing equipment for Tamnava west field, important for maintaining of production of 12 tons of coal per year and increasing the production in following years on 14 tons of coal per year, with major projected as to secure coal supply for Serbia energy system in the following years.
