Brodosplit Shipyard in the Adriatic port of Split, Croatia has signed a deal with German company Kranunion for building cranes for them.The deal will last for five years and the Croatian crisis hit shipyard will this way secure jobs for up to 400 employees out of 2,000 workers that work in the shipyard at present.The work on building the cranes for ports and shipyards will start already next month.Brodosplit's public relations office has announced their company becomes the only producer of such cranes in Southeastern Europe and in the Mediterranean.Workers of the shipyard went on a strike last month due to a delay in payments reports Croatian Times.
