PKP Cargo Logistics has launched a railway link to China in collaboration with Far East Land Bridge and Russian Railway Logistics.
The 1st train arrived in Warsaw on Monday the 14th October after a two-week journey. It left the Chinese city of Suzhou on October 1 with 43 containers worth of cargo.
The organization arranging the shipment on behalf of PKP Cargo Logistics is Cargosped, which in turn will conduct loading, technological supervising unloading storage in Poland, along with car deliveries from the terminal to the cargo’s ultimate destination.
It's not the 1st freight railway route between 2 countries. Earlier this year, a link between Chengdu and Łódź was established, with the trains arriving 3 times a week.
Shipment by train costs between 4 and 8 times less than air shipping and also will take half the time a cargo ship takes to reach Europe.
